The results of the questionnaire survey show that the readiness of selected providers of social services in the South Bohemian region reached only 58 %, which means that social service providers are not sufficiently prepared for emergencies. The threshold of success was met in questions 1, 5a, 5b, 8, 10, 11, 13, 22, 23 a 30. Most social service providers have developed a crisis preparedness plan (question 13) and the thesis shows that social service providers are interested on the creation of a system of education and training of volunteers (question no. 36) where, however, the threshold of success was not met.
